Its not always good to expect a quick reply from them. They will reply anyway, whenever they get time. When you photograph some interesting species, best thing to do, would be to track down all the literature ( Most of it is available over net ) and write an article about its occurrence, behavioral aspects and exact geographical location. Then present it to one of the experts and ask for their feedback. So, it is necessary to do this background work before we contact the experts. Even then it is not mandatory that experts must process your request !!! The person who is sending the photo, will get highly disappointed if there is no response from the experts. But on the other hand experts will be receiving hundreds of such requests every week and they cannot process all of them. Remember, they have to handle these requests apart from their own professional and personal work. This holds good even to people who keep sending their photos for identification, without even mentioning what they think the probable species might be and what the confusion is. Most of us want an easy way out, post it to the group and let experts work on it. Anyway if this is what you want, then its fine, but you will never be able to indepedently work on your own or work towards butterfly conservation.
