Yeah, there is something with Hypolimnas misippus males.
I have seen them doing this with few swallowtails including the mormons,
but never seen an attempt to mount.
One might initially think that its a territorial behavior, but then they
will be gently flying with the other species for quite sometime.
Occassionally you can also see Hypolimnas misippus straight away chasing off
other butterflies, which is more appropriate for a territorial behavior.
May be there are lot of gentlemen among "Hypolimnas misippus", who will
gently shove off the uninvited bigger guests from their territory :-)).
