Probably she might have known that this xmas you will be consized at home
unable to take your field visits. And taking into consideration your love and
dedication to butterflies and nature might have thought off giving a xmas gift
to you.
So you see your work pays back
Cheers

Dear Friends,
Last Sunday, while I was watching the world go by from my window (now a days I
can do only that) I was pleasantly surprised by a female Crimson Rose hovering
around the window trellis where I have grown Aristolochia indica, but that day
she did lay any egg, but kept on hovering. Next day in afternoon she was back
and  to my delight  saw her curling her abdomen tip to lay a dark egg on the
underside of the leaf. This way I saw her laying 7 to 9 eggs, or may be more.
Looks like it takes around 7 days for the eggs to hatch so now I am waiting for
my Christmas gift!!
For several years I have attempted to get this Swallowtail  lay eggs in my
window garden so that I can work on the life history, but finally it
worked.Cheers!Isaac

When my neighbours little daughter saw this picture she thought it was a
christmas lantern.
but it happens to be the pupa of the common baron.

let me also take this opportunity to wish all my friends  at BI   A merry
christmas and a happy new year
