Thank you all for the id and the link. From all this discussion I conclude that 
the photograph I had sent was of common three ring with only the hind wing 
seen, 
(which made me confuse). 

And Surya Prakashji from the flicker photograph that you had pointed link to, 
it 
does not seem to have any rings on the hind wing. Is this the way one 
differentiates between the lesser and common three ring?
