Dear Friends,

Recently I was pleasantly surprised with a  gift of the book "HONG KONG
BUTTERFLIES" by my nephew.   The book is written by Philip Yik-fui Lo and
Wing-leung Hui. This field guide covers 240 species of butterflies found in
Hong Kong and is profusely illustrated with around 1000 colour photographs
showing early stages, live butterflies and preserved specimen to show the UP
and UN. The descriptions are very brief packed in 572 pages. The book can
easily slip into large pant pockets, but you need to tighten your belt!!

The best part is that I can use this book in India too to ID butterflies here.
I was happy to see the familiar names like Tamil Grass Dart, Indian Awlking,
Indian Palm Bob, Indian Cabbage White, and all other names like Plum Judy,
Common Nawab, Red Lacewing and all other butterflies with same common names we
use India. This makes it very useful additional reference book. I appreciate
that the Chinese did not change the name of Tamil Grass Dart to HONG KONG GRASS
DART. That's  a very wise market strategy. It is priced at HK $ 100/-
Cheers!
