Unni, this is a low elevation species both in the Western Ghats and in NE
India. My personal records and all others that I have heard about so far have
been below 300-400m asl or so.

In contrary to to the textbook description that it rests on the upper side of
leaves, I found it settling on the under surface of leaves. It is very much
addicted to bird-droppings. The flight is very fast, on straight path and
dashes out of sight when disturbed. Seems to prefer shady places.
Happiness to you!

Here is a picture of Yellow Breasted Flat from Vellikulangara RF, Thrissur.

Do we have records of this flat from a low altitude mixed deciduous forest?
My impression was that it is a mid to high altitude species.
