hi all, myself was observing migration randomly around my place in whitefield, Bangalore. but this time the migration was less compared to last two years. in the first week of may the migration of lime butterflies started. then emigrants.. by the end of May i could see some crows and blue tigers migrating.
on May 28, at around 1 pm, i have counted 14 lime butterflies, 12 emigrants, 4 blue tigers (i think all are dark blue tigers), 4 crows and one pansy crossing the road in a distance of around 10 meters in two minutes. the blue tiger (both blue tiger and dark blue tigers) and crows migration was lasted only for few days. but i have watched them in roosting in the garden. i could find around 100 butterflies (dark blue tigers, blue tigers and crows) resting on a jamun tree for few days in last week of may and june. today also i have seen very few (10-12) blue tigers are resting there. the migration of lime butterflies and emigrants continued till june first week. but i feel the migration was less compared to last two years in both duration and in population. the direction of migration was always towards north east. cheers Haneesh -- Enjoy
