Dear Friends, The butterfly season is here and BNHS is proud to announce the butterfly watch visit to Ovalekar Wadi.
Ovalekar Wadi is a quiet little butterfly park (all of 2 acres) located off the Ghodbunder Road in Thane. The park is a result of the efforts put in by Mr. Rajendra Ovalekar, the owner of the place. He has planted a variety of fruit and flower bearing trees in this patch of land, thereby creating a natural environment where butterflies can thrive without any need for enclosures. It is home to about 40-50 different species of butterflies such as Tigers, Nawabs, Commander to name a few. *Venue:* Ovlekarwadi.*Date:* Sunday, 9th October 2011*Time:* 7:30 am. To 10:30 a.m.*Charges:* Rs. 60/- per head. *Participants have to bear the entry charge of Rs.50/- for Ovalekar Wadi at the venue*.*Register before:* 6th October 2011.*Meeting Point:* Ovale Village Bus stop on Ghodbundar Road.*How to reach:* Catch State Transport or BEST Bus going to Borivali/ Mira Road/ Bhayendar from Thane Station.
