I think the first option should be the best because learning will be max in that compared to the second one - where people seem more busy with photography.
But if it has to be only the second option then I could also chip in - provided someone from the group gives assurance about the sincerely and long term commitment of that student. He / She should be a serious student of 'butterflies' and not just a student from some college. cheers. --- On Mon, 10/10/11, Kunte, Krushnamegh <[email protected]> wrote: From: Kunte, Krushnamegh <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [ButterflyIndia] Encouraging students to join us To: "butterflyindia" <[email protected]> Date: Monday, October 10, 2011, 5:51 AM Nelson, there are two more alternatives: (1) Students can approach me and others who do field work on a regular basis. If students are willing to help with field work, and learn about butterflies and assist in scientific research in the process, I can pay for most of their field expenses. (2) Wait for a cheaper meet. Since we have had several expensive meets in the past couple of years, we are planning on keeping the expenses very low for the 2012 meets so that students can afford to attend. If for some reason students want to attend specific meets but cannot afford the fees, then sure, I would not mind pitching in some money for them. With best wishes, Krushnamegh.
