Hi, here is a brief summary from the software-center status call from today plus some thoughts I had while writing the notes down.
== Software-center-agent == Michael Nelson provided the stub API for the software-center-agend and it is working for me on his local machine. So we can now work against the stub service (Michael Nelson also helped me a lot with the initial setup). The real implementation for the s-c-agent is in progress, one issue open is: https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad-foundations/+bug/598464 The soyuz metadata upload is working, but not yet exactly the way software-center needs it (a aggregation of the existing data is still needed). == Billing == The generic billing system is making good progress and is on schedule. The access to the billing system for purchase of software will initially be limited to a (configurable) team so that we can decide when to open it to the public (if we need to make a lot of refunds that is going to be expensive for us). == ISV == We also need to have something to sell once the system is ready, we need to talk to ISV about this and make sure they have something ready. We could also create something like a "donate and get desktop backgrounds" package that we sell really cheap to test the system against real-world users.
