When I tested it today, staging.launchpad.net was down, so I couldn't repeat the same scenario. But last week I purchased an item without letting its installation complete, so today I tested what happens when I try to purchase it again. <http://people.canonical.com/~mpt/usc-2010-08-23-unfinished.ogv> It's a bit of a mess. > These are the problems I found -- some USC-specific, some > agent-specific, and some a combination of both. Fixed in a slightly crude fashion, by removing the button entirely. :-) <http://launchpad.net/bugs/622700> > 0:35 The purchase process opens in a separate window; it would be much > more elegant embedded in the same window. <http://launchpad.net/bugs/618817> 0:20 "Buy" should be "Buy…" (as long as we don't have one-click purchasing). <http://launchpad.net/bugs/622708> > 0:35 The "Connecting to payment service" text is thick and unstyled. <http://launchpad.net/bugs/622727> > 0:36 A Launchpad Login Service page is shown. What? *** >... That isn't important as long as we're going to replace the Launchpad Login Service with Ubuntu SSO. - From this point, in the new screencast: 0:48 A PolicyKit alert appears from aptdaemon, with no primary text. 1:01 "Purchase of Hello X Adventure in progress" appears too quickly to read. 1:03 "Installing purchased…" [sic] appears. <http://launchpad.net/bugs/622750> 1:09 Ubuntu Software Center says it wants to "install a local package file". This shouldn't be happening. 1:21 Aptdaemon says "An unhandled error occured" [sic]. 1:35 USC continues saying "Installing purchased…", but nothing is happening, and the "Buy" button has returned. 1:43 Clicking the "Buy" button again does nothing, except make the button insensitive. The item was not successfully installed. - -- Matthew Paul Thomas http://mpt.net.nz/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkxyhJoACgkQ6PUxNfU6ecoJYwCfWnqZs+UqJ7qlBbN/DCWx4puo BH4AoLVwEHhnbFaP9tm1nol9+hvhrHcn =xwK/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~buy-something Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~buy-something More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
