Hi Matt,
Cool. Suggest you create a "sandbox/lang3" (or similarly named directory). 
Personally I prefer "sandbox" to a "branch" for this type of work. Alternative, 
is to generate a near-term "release" branch and do the lang3-related 
development in trunk...
