HI folks;
I would like to extend an invitation to your membership to consider
attending the Central States VHF Society conference this summer, being held
at the Marriot south in Austin, TX. Please distribute this invite to your

The online registration for the 2014 Central States VHF Society
Conference is now available.
The 2014 Conference will be held at the Austin Marriott South from Thursday
July 24th until Sunday July 27. This year's location has easy access off
of Interstate 35, at the highway 71 intersection
on the southeast side of Austin.
Activities begin with onsite check-in and registration Thursday
afternoon, and the highlight that evening is a boat trip on the Colorado
river, dinner included, with a stop under the famous 'bat bridge'. Friday
morning's activities feature the Antenna Range (144MHz-24Ghz) measurements,
Rover Row, Dish Display and Noise Figure Measurement. Friday afternoon, the
technical presentations will begin, and the evening features a flea market
of items sure to be valued by VHF/UHF operators.
Saturday, the sessions will continue, and the day will be capped off by the
Saturday evening banquet and auction.
In addition to the world-class technical presentations on topics
about activity on the amateur bands VHF/UHF and above; this year's
conference will feature a return of the free-admission
"VHF-101" introductory session on Saturday Morning!

The 2014 Conference highlight is the Saturday evening banquet. This
year the featured speaker being Jimmy Treybig, W6JKV, who will highlight his
many adventures while traveling to rare DX locations to activate them on 50
and 144 MHz.
In addition to the Thursday boat ride described above, other family
activities include a trip to the Hill country to tour a winery and make a
stop in historic Fredericksburg, all on Friday. On Saturday, a trip is
planned to the natural bridge caverns, and shopping in San Marcos.
