That’s a little curious (per email), but it’s his choice.

Well that's a bummer. But a Friday night setup will still beat Saturday
morning. Best of luck. I'll be there to help with the antenna setup if I can
get away from work.

Michael,

We were trying for Thursday but the fire field has something going that will
run late, so we scratched Thursday.

Roy,

I'm just curious why you are not utilizing rule 3.3:

3.3. No class A or B station may begin its set-up earlier than 0000 UTC on the
Friday (Thursday

afternoon or evening local time) preceding the Field Day period. Cumulative
set-up time shall not exceed a total of 24 hours.

This Rule allows you setup the antennas in the cool of Thursday eve or Friday
so that you don't kill your people Saturday morning.

QST...QST 18 days left.

Here is the plan at this time for Field Day.

Friday afternoon we will start to stage antennas, radios, feedlines etc. at
the fire field. We will have to work around the fire fighters still in training
on certain parts of the field. That means we can assemble beams away from them
to be ready for Saturday morning.

Our radio room (see site map attached - grid square #2), will probably have
classes underway so we will have to wait for that to clear. After the
classrooms are clear, we are free to move tables and start setting up our
radios. The building and the field are locked overnight so our equipment is
safe. We will do as much as we can till dark.

At 7AM local time Saturday, we will begin to erect antennas and get the radio
room and other sites ready for the FD activity by 1PM local. We then start and
will continue operation until 1PM Sunday. We then will start the tear down and
secure our equipment and the site around 4 to 5PM.

Some things seldom go according to plan but, Jack Van Demark (WN5A) (our cook
again this year), assures me that is not the case in the food department.

The current plan for Saturday lunch is sandwiches from Subway. Dinner is still
being fussed over but it looks like it's coming down to brisket and fajitas.

Lunch will be around 12 o'clock and dinner at about 6.

More bulletins as we get closer to "Gentlemen! -- Start Your Radios!"
