I plan to try to complete at least one satellite QSO at field day. If Al N5afv
is available I'm sure that it will happen.

KK5W Field Day Bonus Points </div><div>
</div>Greetings to all that wish to attend the KK5W Field Day at the Richmond
Fire Training Ground in Ft Bend,

As many who monitor the email lists know BVARC, TDXS, and ECHO Society are
hosting efforts of the Tri Club KK5W Field Day. Prior to the BVARC meeting I
raised a few questions and next thing I knew I was to help with the bonus
points. As not to Hog some of the Field Day Fun if you would like to Co- chair
the Bonus points Capt. let me and Roy know.

I see an ugent need for:

#1) 7.3.7 Satellite QSO We need a SAT Captain. Many can Team up for this
Satillite challange. see below SAT rules

7.3.7. Satellite QSO: 100 bonus points for successfully completing at least one
QSO via an
amateur radio satellite during the Field Day period. "General Rules for All
ARRL Contests" (Rule

3.7.2.), (the no-repeater QSO stipulation) is waived for satellite QSOs. Groups
are allowed one

dedicated satellite transmitter station without increasing their entry
category. Satellite QSOs also

count for regular QSO credit. Show them listed separately on the summary sheet
as a separate

"band." You do not receive an additional bonus for contacting different
satellites, though the

additional QSOs may be counted for QSO credit unless prohibited under Rule
7.3.7.1. The QSO

must be between two Earth stations through a satellite. Available to Classes A,
B, and F.

7.3.7.1 Stations are limited to one (1) completed QSO on any single channel FM
satellite.

#2) 7.3.6 NEED NTS Capt. We need some NTS message handlers on FD site and also
some off site to relay and send messages to and from FD site. see below
Message Handling rules

7.3.6. Message Handling: 10 points for each formal NTS style originated,
relayed or received and

delivered during the Field Day period, up to a maximum of 100 points (ten
messages). Properly

serviced copies of each message must be included with the Field Day report. The
message to the

ARRL SM or SEC under Rule 7.3.5. does not count towards the total of 10 for
this bonus.

Available to all Classes. All NTS messages claimed for bonus points must leave
or enter the

site via amateur radio RF.

#3) 7.3.10 EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY BONUS We need your presentation. This is
simple presentation related to Amateur radio. Two Examples of past FD bonus
educational activity are Hands on how to build a 10 M dipole done by KD5YVQ
Robert and Digital Radio to external sound card PC interface done by Bill WS5H.
This type of demonstration is a great learning tool for new Hams at FD and 100
points for the FD effort. see below Educational Activity Bonus rules

7.3.10. Educational activity bonus: One (1) 100-point bonus may be claimed if
your Field Day

operation includes a specific educational-related activity. The activity can be
diverse and must be

related to amateur radio. It must be some type of formal activity. It can be
repeated during the Field Day period but only one bonus is earned. For more
information consult the FAQ in the

complete Field Day packet. Available to Classes A & F entries and available
clubs or groups

operating from a club station in class D and E with 3 or more participants.

THESE WERE THE 3 MAIN ITEMS TO WORK ON FOR THIS WEEKEND. I WILL PUT OUT MORE
REQUESTS AND GIVE THE WHO DO WHAT LIST ON BONUS POINTS AFTER ALL GET SETTLED IN
FROM HAMCOM. PLEASE TRY TO HELP OUT IN THE KK5W BONUS POINTS EFFORT. If you
want to be involved in other bonus point activities let me know.

Be Safe and Have Fun At Field Day
