ALL should get comfortable with the idea that if I am working one of the A
stations in a 2 hr slot that if someone, especially a newer ham wants to work
HF, I will slide over and give some tricks and tips for them to get more
seasoned with HF and contesting. I will suggest that if you are a bit green
with HF/contesting that first you see KD5AT Bob at the GOTA station. That is
what GOTA (Get on the Air) is all about.

Everyone can be a winner at Field Day

        2014 FD Operator Signup Lottery

In an effort to be as fair as possible, I'm holding a lottery for
operators.

Our stations operating time will be blocked out into 2 hour intervals
starting at 1PM Saturday.

        Example: Block 1 - (1PM to 3PM)

                         Block 2 - (3PM to 4PM)

The Signup Lottery will start Wednesday the 25th. At 6 pm local time
and end at 12 noon on Thursday the 26th. Please send me an email stating the
time block and the mode you want to operate. Include your name and call.

You can sign up for only one time slot using this lottery.

The available modes are: CW or RTTY or SSB. One choice only

If available, I will place your name in the time slot for your desired
mode.

Priority will be determined by the inbox timestamp of when I received
your request.

If I get any requests in my inbox marked at the same time, I will flip
a coin for the priority. (I promise to be honest)

Depending on the amount of entrants, you might not get what you ask
for, so I will assign you to the next available slot of your stated mode. If I
have to substitute for you, I will inform you by email. I will not have time to
give you a list of what’s still available, so if you reject my substitute,
please inform me by email. Your next opportunity to change modes or select an
empty slot will be on Saturday/Sunday.

If you are operating, at the end of your slot time and if the next time
slot is empty, you may put yourself in that slot and continue operating. You
may not put yourself into more than one slot per time block. If the next slot
is taken and the person has not arrived, you must give up your seat when they
get there. The late person will not be granted any additional time for being
late. If the slot after the person that took your seat is empty, you may again
sign up.

If there are any disagreements about time slots, I will judge as fairly
as I can and my ruling will be final.

Please do not reply to this Email. It will not be read.

The lottery address is: [email protected]
