i have an 80 meter inverted V made from #14 stranded wire and tuned it exactly
as you are thinking.
on advice from a mentor, i cut it a few inches long and then started folding
the wire back on each end.
wound up folding back 4 feet on each end
it runs next to some banana plants and the freeze last winter took them out ...
i had to re-tune by unfolding all the wire.
now that the plants have grown back and i need to roll the wire up again to get
back in tune.
it seems that banana plants make a good capacitance hat!
