I have found the sun data can be misleading. I listen for beacons at the low 
end of the band (between 28.200 and 28.300).

If I hear none, I can be pretty sure there will be no DX. When the band is open 
there are many beacons. 

 

There is an excellent article in the November 2014 QST about the Solar Banners 
and how to read them.

10m is a tough band to get out on with HF conditions alot of times not helping.
