You are invited to participate in the 1st Annual 2 Meter FM Challenge on Oct
4, 2014, from 1 -5 PM Texas Time, sponsored by the Katy Amateur Radio
Society.

The purpose of this contest is to introduce Radiosports to a larger
population of hams, especially newly licensed amateurs and those without HF
privileges. The goal is to make as many two-way simplex QSO's as possible
without the aid of a repeater. Working a contest like this is good practice
for a real emergency, where local conditions are likely to be frantic and
fraught with tesion.

You don't need a world class station to participate. A 5 watt HT will do.
The emphasis is on ingenuity and having fun. Finding a good location and a
good antenna will be the key to success in this event.

A copy of the rules is attached to this announcement. You may also download
