I hope it's not as big a circus as DC has been. I managed to get one CW
QSO, and the call he sent back to me was in error.

If you haven't had a reason to join in the fun for W1AW portable operations,
here is truly a rare opportunity.

Beginning tonight at 7 PM local time, W1AW/KH0 will be on the air from
Tinian Island in the Marianas, for you IOTA freaks like me that's OC-086.
For you history buffs, Tinian and Saipan were made famous in World War II as
a forward air base for B-29 strikes against Japan and as the origination
point for both atomic bomb attacks. Today, The Northern Marianas is a
commonwealth of the U.S. similar to Puerto Rico and its inhabitants are U.S.
citizens.

If you worked W1AW/KH2, Guam , W1AW/KH0, is about the same distance only
slightly more westerly. According to Club Log, KH0 is not especially rare
DX. Its 198th on the list of most wanted DX but for the next two weeks it
will be highly visible as part of the ARRL Centennial W1AW Portable
operation. If you don't have KH0, or OC-086 in your log, don't miss the
chance.

Of course W1AW/4 Virginia and W1AW/0 Missouri will also be on the air for a
week starting tonight.
