a.. BVARC November Membership meeting will be on Thursday, November 13, at 7:30
PM at the Eldridge Park Conference Center (see BVARC home page for detailed
directions).
Chili Cook-Off at the Polls
As we close in on the end of the year the temperatures begin to fall, to the
delight of many. With the falling temperatures comes the desire for hot chili.
The desire for hot chili means that it is time for BVARC to hold a chili
cook-off. This year, come to the November meeting with a pot that old family
recipe. You could just find yourself leaving with the grand prize. If cooking
up chili is not your thing, how about bringing a plate of cornbread. Michael,
AC0TX, is the chili shepherd, so contact him at [email protected] if you are
planning on bringing goodies.
Also, don't forget that it is voting time. Offices in need of fresh perspective
are: Vice President; Secretary/Treasurer; the Two Year at Large Member: and the
One Year at Large Member. If you are interested in any of these positions
please notify Rick Hiller, W5RH, to have your name put on the ballot. Being a
part of the BVARC board of directors is a great way to not only serve the club,
but to be at the forefront of the direction that the club goes. Come and be a
part of the vote, and come hungry.

We will be voting into office 5 members that are Hams that want to take on the
positions of: Vice President; Corresponding Secretary; Treasurer; the Two Year
at Large Member: and the One Year at Large Member. We do now have candidates
that have come forward to get on the ballot, but it would be great to have more
in each office category, so we can actually vote and take a count to see who
won…you know….like a real election.
If you are interested in any of these positions and need more information
please notify Rick Hiller, W5RH, to ask questions or to have your name put on
the ballot or to nominate a fellow member (post their approval, please).
Being a part of the BVARC Board of Directors is a great way to not only serve
the club, but to be at the forefront of the direction that the club takes.
