just in case someone at bvarc might be interested in this class.

i have been watching physics 802 from MIT on iTunes U and it is pretty neat for someone that never took a physics class.

Rice will be offering the "Physics of Ham Radio" class again this spring.
Monday evenings, 6- 9 pm, Jan 12-April 20.
Because of teachers in the MST program, the course number has changed to Phys 501.
It does not require calculus. It is more than just a ham cram, however.

Here is the course web page with information about the course
(still being updated);
http://space.rice.edu/MST/PHYS501/

It covers electrical circuits, electromagnetic waves, antennas, ionosphere, space weather, GPS and geocaching.

Please spread the word among any students who might be interested. It's a Monday evening course, with a few extra evenings "on the air". Students will attempt their "technician" level ham radio license exam as the midterm. (and virtually everyone passes).

Please spread the word, especially among teachers!
