Rob,

I, as a new-by to HF figured it out.

Try this.

As long as you have Dual VFO it is a piece of cake.

Set the radio to a frequency on "A". Then push A=B. Then A/B. This will swap
from A to B and when pushed again it will go back.

If the other station is listening "up 5" then adjust the B frequency up 5
Khz. Then go back to A. As long as you hear the station you want to QSO ...
good.

Then push the "SPLIT" button. What happens next is that every time you key
it switches automatically to the B and when you un-key it will go back to A.

Just remember to make sure the radio is tuned to lowest SWR.

When you want to work the next station push the SPLIT button again to turn
off the split function. Most important.... MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE NOT IN
SPLIT MODE WHEN YOU SWITCH BANDS. Otherwise you will be operating cross band
and could fry the radio.

Hope this helps.
