It’s that time again. Thunderstorm and hurricane season. Time to make sure your 
HT battery packs are ready for duty.

Here’s the N4HPG official recommended method:
1. Leave the HT on until the battery dies and the HT shuts off.
2. Place battery into charger - preferably an intelligent charger.
3. Shampoo - lather rinse repeat for each battery pack. (You do have spares 
don’t you?)

When buying battery packs, put a date on them. I use a Ptouch label. Most of 
mine were bought at the Shelby NC Hamfest in 2011 so it’s about time to start 
replacing them.

When we are all partially recharging even the NiMH packs, they don’t always get 
the full tank. This method is mandatory for ALL charging of NiCAD packs.
