My name is Mike Brannan. I am organizing the Battleship TEXAS Amateur Radio
Station for operation on Museum Ships Week End from 1900 (7pm) June 5, 2015 to
1859 (6:59pm) June 7, 2015.
I have spoken to Andy Smith who is the TEXAS Ship Manager about Museum Ships
Week End. He told me some of the items we have to do to operate on the ship.
Also I spoke to Kandace Trujillo TPWD's Overnight Education Program director.
There will be an Overnight Progam with Cub Scouts on Saturday Evening. We will
be able to overnight.
The first thing is that TPWD needs to know who is going to show up and be able
to vet everyone. So please provide me the following information:
Name, Call, TX drivers license number, Address, contact phone number, I will
forward that information to the ship. Also let me know if you are planning on
staying on the ship overnight Saturday night. Or if you wish to just operate
Saturday or Sunday 10am to 5pm.

The 40/15m ship vertical is available from the BTARS ham shack on Deck 2 port
side in the General Store Keepers office at Frame 100 next to the canteen.
There is a coax coming out of the floor next to the hull which connects to that
antenna.
We are planning to hang an OCF dipole between the outside flag hoists on
the foremast and main mast. We may be able to hang a multi-band vertical from
the aft flag hoist. Plan to help rig antennas on Saturday morning and run coax.
Then late Sunday, de-rig the antennas, coax and stations.
We have the band pass filters so we could operate multiple transmitters. You
will need headphones and a splitter if you plan to have a logger.
Keep a log using GMT and send a copy to me for entry in the NA5DV log and
submission to the Battleship New Jersey for a certificate. The main point is
to contact as many museum ships as possible. Any ship or operator who contacts
more than 15 ships will get a certificate.
The website for information and rules is www.nj2bb.org. The ship
operating frequencies are listed there. SSB, CW and PSK31 will be used.
