Think I will call it a wrap with 18 ships. Only need 15 ships for the NJ2BB
cert. Thank You Sparks AF5T for the visit yesterday and putting back up my
carolina windom that went down to the ground in a storm 1 week prior to the
flood. Was able to make contacts now on warc bands with tuner. Not a bad job
putting up the antenna for an 85 year old.
I think by now our KK5W crew are breaking down the stations at Ft Travis. I
wish to say THANK YOU to the very few that made our KK5W club representation of
the USS Cavalla and USS Stewart happen.
It for a moment brought me to tears that my illness prevented me from my
participation on site at the MSWE event. I have always loved this event and
still remember 8 years ago when old Sparks and I started this aboard ships. I
will always miss the old ship curator Chief of Boat John McMichael for allowing
us way back before this new Ship board to restore ship antennas, radios, tour
gide and operate in the radio rooms. In our hay day I presided the Cavalla
Historical Amateur Radio Society that spawned from BVARC member participation.
