All,

2 things:

1. Some have questioned my sanity in my goal to design and build a modern, more
efficient linear power supply. When I look at the material on the subject,
everyone who has published is making a mad dash into switching supplies in a
desire for light weight and efficiency. Honestly, I don’t care if a PS weighs
20 lbs. if it lives on my desk. I want something that is electrically quiet,
reasonably efficient and doesn’t have a noisy fan.

2. I just received a shipment of the Finally light bulb. They’re wonderful!!!
broad-spectrum light. Generally cool, amazingly better than any other option.
They use magnetic flux to excite the medium inside to glow. What I do NOT yet
know is what amount of noise they generate. Simply turning on my TS-940S there
is no increase in the total noise and I can’t hear the lamp switched on and off
again in the receive audio. www.finallybulb.com <http://www.finallybulb.com/>.

For those who doubt my sanity for other reasons, go right ahead :) Dr. Horowitz
(The Art of Electronics) is advising on my PSU project.
