Logger+ tips

The latest 10-10 call history file just came in from KF6ILA. As I cannot
attach it to this email over the reflector, let me know and I will send it
to you. If Duncan uploads it to www.groups.yahoo.com
<http://www.groups.yahoo.com> , the name is Ten-Ten 2015d.txt It contains
48,185 callsigns compared to 48,020 in the previous version. I hope I can
work 5% of them!

Subject: 10-10 Contest starts Friday night - N1MM Logger + tips

If you are going to enter the 10-10 contest starting Friday night, and you
are planning to use N1MM+, here are a few tips:

1. Use 1010RTTY instead of TENTENRTTY when choosing the log type. The
1010RTTY has some extra features, and the log entry order is CALL, NAME,
S/P/C (state/province/country), 10-10 number. It flows easier than the
TENTENRTTY.

2. Ignore the "RTTY" in the name. This log type is good for any mode.

3. 1010RTTY and TENTENRTTY are both "UDC" log types UDC stands for
"User Defined Contest" and they can be located at
http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-list_file_gallery.php?galleryId=18
<http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-list_file_gallery.php?galleryId=18&offset=100>
&offset=100 under tab three named TENTEN.zip. (Or www.n1mm.com
<http://www.n1mm.com> > files > User Defined Contests (UDC) > tab 3.

4. Download and unzip the files into your C:\Users\[your
name]\Documents\N1MM Logger+\UserDefinedContests

5. There is a call history located in the files section at
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/N1MMLogger/info . (You may have to join
the group to access the folder - or I can send it to you.) The current file
name is "-Ten-Ten 2015a.txt" . However, I expect a newer file to be
uploaded late Thursday night.

6. Download the call history file to C:\Users\[your
name]\Documents\N1MM Logger+\CallHistoryFiles

7. Start N1MM+. Go to File > New Log in Database. Then go to Log Type
and select 1010RTTY.

8. Change Sent Exchange to your Name / State / and your 10-10 number.

9. Select "Associated Files"

10. To the right of "Call History Filename" select "Change" and then
select "-Ten-Ten 2015a.txt". Then click Open to select it. Click OK at the
bottom. (It will be -Ten-Ten 2015b.txt if it gets updated like I am hoping.)

11. You will get a window that says "Large call history file imports can
take several minutes." Click "Yes".

12. You should see "Importing Callsigns #" at the bottom of the Entry
Window.

13. Click "Config" in the Entry Window and make sure that "Enable Call
History Lookup" is checked.

14. That all there is to it! ;-) Type a call in the Entry Window and
either press enter or space bar to test. If the station you typed into the
Entry Window is in the database, the Name, QTH and 10-10 number (if any)
should autopopulate.

15. Click "Log it" or press enter if using ESM (Enter Sends Message) mode.

16. After testing this with a few calls, you can either delete the QSOs or
just start another new log.

If you have any questions, or if I have missed anything (or screwed up the
instructions), contact me directly asap.

The contest starts at 0000Z or 7pm local time Friday night and lasts 48
hours. Of course there won't be 24 hour propagation, but sometimes 10 meters
can surprise you!
