Greetings I'll be working the North American QSO Party next weekend as part of a team with the DFW Contest group. Would you like to participate in the NAQP and be part of a team?
Teams can be made up of up to 5 hams per team. You compete individually but your score is aggregated with your team members as a team score as well. We are looking for a couple hams that would like to participate in a team for the NAQP. You don't have to be an expert contester. The NAQP,SSB is only 12 hours long. You do not need a 10KW boomer. The contest runs from August 15th 1PM to August 16 1 AM local time. Does not require a huge time commitment. Besides you can tell the XYL you are sharpening your operating skills in the event of a weather emergency. This is an easy contest to work. If you are a beginner, the information to be exchanged is simple: your name and state. That's it. If you are a new ham, trying to get your Worked All States, this is an excellent opportunity for you to get those hard to work states like North Dakota. Rumor has it there are only five active hams in the whole state. Chances are they will be active. It is highly recommended that you use a specialty logging program like N1MM Logger + (free) or N3FJP NAQP Log. Cost $8.99 Download from this link, http://www.n3fjp.com/naqp.html Using a logging program like this will help you keep track of your progress and simplify your score submission. Contesting is great fun and if you have the competitive spirit, give it a try. If you are a seasoned contester and just want to jump into the fray, let me know Contact me at the email below if you are in or have more questions.
