BVARC Members, I am in need of about 15 Ham operators for the TRH Caney
Creek Enduro. This is an off road motorcycle race in the Sam Houston
National Forest . The hams work the road crossings and medical group. This
is unlike any bike ride you have ever worked. There are about 80 to 100
riders on 80 miles of trails thru out the forest. It starts in New Waverly,
just south of Huntsville . Cell phone service in the forest is poor so hams
can be a lifesaver if someone needs to be extracted from the woods. ( we
employ a fourwheeler for that)

Requirements are a VHF mobile radio ( we use a local VHF repeater) A hand
held is nice but not necessary)
Bring plenty of water and lunch

Where Sam Houston National Forest , Race starts in the town of New Waverly
at the school yard FM 1374 and SH 75 and goes across I 45 on FM 1374 and
into the woods.
When Sep 27 2015
Time Key time (first racer leaves the start point 8:01 AM we need to
meet at 7:15 and I will give you a map and a road crossing to work. The US
Forest service requires a person at all road crossings. Several have
worked this race in the past and had a blast.
