Got up at Oh Dark 30, drove to Ch 11 in torrential downpour through morning drive time.
Arrived at CH 11 waited for Mike Hinkel the Maker Faire guru. He was late. We were informed that we could take nothing into the studio. That all "exhibits" were to be left in lobby. I had my ICOM ID51 and a couple of kits to show off. NO way I was leaving them in the lobby. Debra would pose for photo ops with exhibits after the show. We could not leave the studio till the show was over. They wanted two people who could ask an aviation expert about cell phones on airplanes. I did not volunteer. It became clear that they needed audience seats filled, not necessarily people who would talk on the Maker faire. Waited till 0845, still no Hinkel. They started filing in to the studio audience. I left If Hinkel had been there, I would have stayed. He has been a BVARC & Hamfest supporter. I'd have a better chance of getting on the air in that case. Too bad it did not work out that way. 73, Ron, K5HM <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] <http://www.qrz.com/db/k5hm> www.qrz.com/db/k5hm Excelsior!
