Gerry,
For the price of a screwdriver antenna and installation cost, you can remote your 7100 with your home QTH. You can run power and use your beam antenna.
The remote head stays in your car and the main box stays at home. I do this with my TS-480 and RemoteRig equipment. Most people I talk with don't know I am operating Mobile Remote (MR).

I am looking for some information. I would like to put a HF/VHF radio in my truck. I am looking at the Icom IC-7100. I would like information on other brands and a basic review on that model as well as the IC-7100.
