Something I really enjoyed was more room to move around. Using two buildings
for vendors was a master stroke. I noticed that

folks in scooters and wheelchairs were navigating much easier than in the past.

Great job!

Subject: [BVARC] WOW! What a Hamfest.

Congratulations to all who participated!

We will find out in 3 or 4 days if we broke any attendance, raffle and other
records.

With all the doom-and-gloom WX predictions, it turned out to be GREAT WX during
setup, the event itself, and teardown. The only significant rain came late
Friday when the Friday activities were well completed.

The volunteers were really great! As always, there were some shortages, but at
other times we even had to wait a short while to assign tasks to some.

The Friday activities drew more people than we expected. We certainly want to
grow that sort of activity.

Both halls were very busy, especially during the peak times (Saturday, 8AM and
11AM). Incredibly, Bldg C, where the vast majority of Table Sellers were
located was always busier than Bldg B, which was predominantly the Commercial
Vendors.

There were the usual problems, but considering the expansion and other changes
were really an experiment, from which we will all learn, virtually all the
problems were taken care of promptly. Naturally, there are those who will
gripe because the sun rose this morning, but "you can only please most of the
people most of the time." A sequel is that "there are some people that you
can't please any of the time;" these usually are not the volunteers.

I won't list all the activities; those that attended, saw most of them. Those
that didn't, well . . . you really missed a good thing. The Balloon Launch and
the SAT Comms were successful. The Remote HF Station was a hit. There were
many speakers including Riley Hollingsworth, US Rep. Pete Olson, Joe Eisenbert,
Carl Luetzelschwab all of which were well received. There were the workshops,
kit building, a very busy Food Truck, Emergency Vehicle, Boy Scouts, equipment
test, demo table, BVARC equipment sales, raffle, CW Pileup contest, Fox Hunt,
our best tailgate by far, - - - the list goes on-and-on, . . . all of which
were successful. You get the drift.

Keeping the above in mind, it appeared that virtually all the attendees were
quite happy.

Even the quality of the things that the Table Sellers offered seemed to be a
cut above what we have seen in the past. Yes, the usual boat anchors were
there, but there was a lot of apparently good older equipment. Hopefully the
Equipment Test Table had some constant traffic. We hyped it several times.

We will be asking for your feedback in the upcoming days. Look for another
e-mail, either later today or tomorrow with details.

Congratulations to everyone that made this happen!

Tnx es 73
