The 18HT vertical at N5XZ is finally up and accepting RF!

Ross W5HFF came over after the Greater Houston Hamfest wrap-up meeting today
and helped fix a piece of shorted coax, install some more copper strap
between antenna legs and we installed two ground rods and one big radial!
The antenna is currently resonant at 3910 and 7010 but is amazingly
broadband of 40 (about 3:1 on 80 CW and under 1.4:1 throughout the entire 40
meter band!). The plan is to sink 4 more ground rods and 60 - 80 radials, as
well as a remote relay switched loading coil at the base and eventually a 40
meter trap to add a 160 meter inverted L wire. Other band stubs also require
some adjustment, but the primary use for the vertical is/will be 40/80/160.
It hears amazingly well (not as well as the SteppIR rotary dipole of 40
though). So let the low band DXing begin!!

It's been a long time comin' and ch ch changes!

73 and thanks again to Ross for his help today.
