Found this in Christian Science monitor, short explanation of demise of
the Radio Shack brand.
I still have a battery powered shortwave receiver, has built in weather
band as well as capability to receive analog TV audio for channels 2 -
13, use it as a clock radio, has AM and FM broadcast radio in addition
to Shortwave band (No ham bands.), battery powered, or with wall wart
for home use, clock function has Daylight time switch to manually adjust
1 hour from set time.
Also have other Radio Shack products, but this one is in daily use..
Now the local Radio Shack store has changed to a Sprint cell phone shop,
with many brands of entry level and Smartphones, still has a smattering
of Radio Shack labeled products at deep discount..
