Somehow I have wound up as a point of contact between Scouting and Houston Area Amateur Radio.
I am probably not the best person to do this, but I am it for 2017.
So far I have received 4 requests from the Houston Area Scout Council

1. To have an EmCom van at Scout Fair May 6 ....Ft Bend county has graciously agreed to loan their van and will provide ARES members to staff it. 2. Set up an amateur radio demonstration table at Scout Fair ..... so far 3 operators have agreed to staff the booth 3. Provide contacts for clubs or individuals to play host for scouts at Field Day 2017 - so far 3 clubs have agreed
4. Find Hosts for JOTA 2017 in October

_If you would be willing to help at the scout fair table, please let me know._ (Help is defined as bring a radio and talk with scouts for an hour or two. PORTABLE POWER & ANTENNAS; I am trying to get a generator for the radio booth)
The fair is at Minute Maid park on May 6 from 10-3

I know that not every club is set up to host visitors at field day.
But some are, and some individuals may be willing to set up a station for just the scouts. I have already told council that the number of scouts that can be accommodated will be limited at each location.

_If you are willing to do Field Day or JOTA for a scout group, please let me know._
