CQ CQ CQ FIELD DAY! is this weekend June 24 and 25th!

Field Day is ham radio's open house. Every June, more than 40,000 hams
throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public
places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our
communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency
preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single
event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most
popular event in ham radio.

BVARC is conducting FIELD Day this year on June 24th and 25th for the first
time as a FOUR CLUB Event. BVARC, TDXS (Texas DX Society), ECHO (Houston
ECHO Society), and KARS (Katy Amateur Radio Society) all will be operating
participating under the KK5W club call with K5DX as the GOTA (Get on the
Air) call. Field Day is the Premier Operating event of the year and it is up
to YOU to make it a success. The KEY is for everyone to have fun. The
fellowship while experiencing the art and craft of radio communications is
an amazing experience that is shared by all.

Air Conditioning is Provided.. After all this is summer in Texas.

FOOD, snacks and drinks are provided at no cost to attendees. Lunch and
Dinner will keep everyone powered up on Saturday afternoon and evening and
Breakfast on Sunday morning.

WE need operators for the overnight period and those who wish to sleep for a

Operators are needed for every band and mode. If you want to operate, check
the spreadsheet and indicate a time, band and mode that you would like to
operate. If you do not know where to look, a link is provided on the BVARC
website and Facebook page.

GOTA is an introduction to Ham Radio for those without a license, newly
license and Technician Class licensees so that they can get their feet wet
grabbing a microphone and experiencing the thrill of making a contact with
someone across the country or possibly across the world. A coach will be
there to help with the experience.

Visitors are welcome, and a license is not required. So, Scouts, Youth
Groups and adults with an interest in radio communications can come out and
participate with us. This is an annual event is sponsored by ARRL.

The Regular meat and potatoes stations that will operate will be operating
on the primary phone (voice), CW (morse code) and RTTY (radio telegraphy) HF
