Howdy all,

I'm very happy to hear about the new 630-meter and 2200-meter ham bands.  I mean, even if it's a difficult part of the spectrum to make use of, it's still MORE spectrum we can use, right?

But I am wondering about the practical aspect; exactly how we are going to use them.  Specifically:

1)  Is anyone aware of any manufacturers' plans to produce and sell equipment for operation in these bands?  Or is this simply going to be the province of experimenters (which is fine too)?

2)  Just from the physics, it seems to me that these bands are going to be groundwave propagation only.  Is that correct?  And I'd think maritime ops are similar, though different.  I'd be particularly interested to hear from some of the veterans who have experience with LF comms at sea, for example.

Thanks!
