SO the 70 ft Rohn 45 tower is scheduled to come down on Oct 7th. My tower climber is Mark WB5ANN. Mark will be doing a survey and climbing of the tower this Saturday after lunch. I have a list of things to be done before Oct 7 that will remove several smaller antennas on the tower as I want to keep the crain in the yard no more than the 4 hr min. I also have a list of things to do on Oct 7, so if you want to give your experience, please advise asap. The Rohn 45 fold over is expected to come down in 3 pieces, unless we have some angry bolts etc. There are two sets of guys with 4 runs up the tower due to fold over feature. Takedown should not need a GinPole as we expect the crain does all the lifting/work. Not sure if the guy post will be pulled out of the ground or not, still discussing. I can not remember when anyone had a crain/tower takedown in Houston, so a lot of people may show up. Probably need 7 in the work crew for Oct 7th and just a few of us for tomorrow. The biggest antenna tomorrow will be a 3 el Ten half way us the tower, 2 VHF/UHF antennas, 80 M sloper and the 160 antenna up the side of the tower. So if you want to have any input to this production, please come Sat after 1 PM for your advise before the big day in October. Al N5XZ, can you forward this to the BVARC listserver for their look at.
