Gayle,

When you hear a DX station, send your call. If he responds to you, send him
594 and thank you. That is all. If he has others calling him, you may need to
send your call several times until he calls you back. Very simple.

Look for the band to open up to Europe between 10 am and 2 pm on 10, 15 and 20
meters. South America should open up from 2 to 6 pm or later on 10-20 meters.
After that, Asia and Oceania will open up on 20 meters. Sometimes, if
conditions are good, you may get an opening to Hawaii and Australia on 10
meters between 8 and 10 pm.

Most of the DX stations have great antennas and run max power. So, you should
have no problems hearing and working them. Towards the end of the contest, they
will be looking for anything they can hear. But, the fun is to jump into the
pileup.

GL and have fun working DX stations.
