[email protected] Subject: Your hobby needs you. Takes 5 minutes QST: Amateur
operators need to immediately file thoughtful, well -reasoned, succinct
responses at the FCC ECFS, asking the Commission to DISMISS the FCC’s
ill-conceived proposal for unlimited wideband HF data , NPRM 16-239, from being
considered further. Please file a brief comment at the ECFS website to urge the
FCC to DISMISS NPRM 16-239 in light of all the public comments against it! Some
recently filed public opinions can be seen in this link. Please read some of
them.
https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/search/filings?proceedings_name=16-239&sort=date_disseminated,DESC
We need an army now to provide succinct input ASAP, since the FCC
Commissioners are now investigating this in light of the mysterious input
provided by SCS (the maker of Pactor) on November 7, 2018: For instructions
on how to file at the FCC ECFS website, please see here
:http://wireless-girl.com/Helfert16239HowToFileSTD.html Please **spread the
word and use your personal contacts, put on all amateur mailing lists, social
media, etc. as the time is NOW to kill off this horrible proposal by the FCC
that would ruin HF bands for the world with unlimited bandwidth data. Please
write to urge the FCC to DISMISS NPRM 16-239 in light of all the public
comments against it! Thanks for taking a few moments to put your opinion on
record – time is of the essence since the ARRL was lobbying the FCC a few weeks
ago urging for immediate acceptance, and did not properly file an Ex Parte
notice to the public (this was found from recent ARRL Executive Committee
minutes) , and we must all work to stop this poorly conceived proposal from the
FCC from ever becoming part of ham radio. Thanks for your help, and thanks for
spreading the word. Please file a brief comment to urge the FCC to DISMISS
NPRM 16-239 in light of all the public comments against it! 73 ted n9nb
