I don’t have any of the equipment you mentioned but it is actually encouraging to hear that it can fail and that not all problems are operaor problems. I have a nice new radio but it and all the software…especially the constantly evolving digital tricks are kind of a challenge to get talking to each other. Ham Radio Deluxe says “Read the Fine manual amd know how your stuff works….. well…. I have an iPad full of manuals and notes…. pretty much equal to a year of college texts.”
I can remember griping that ham radio was going nowhere and that QST articles were mainly on how to re-wire a microphone cable. That has changed!
