As President of Brazos Valley Amateur Radio Club and host for the 2019 Quad
Club Mega Field Day (maybe QCFDC?), I want to welcome all club members and
their families and friends out to this weekend's event. This year's event is
a culmination of hard work by many club members to help promote amateur
radio and support club functions. Their hard work helps keep the hobby going
and provides a learning platform for new and old hams alike.

This year's event will have BVARC, TDXS, ECHO and KARS as the participating
clubs. The event will be held again at the Duhacsek Park Community Center,
17034 Old Richmond Road in Sugar Land. With over 60 acres of land, it is a
great place to hold Field Day for the four clubs. It took over 4 years of
coordinating to get permission to use the park for Field Day so if you see a
event organizer, tell them thanks.

If you need information on how to get to the Field Day site, this web site
should help.

Attached is an information sheet on the event that should answer most
questions about the Mega Field Day event. The information sheet has info
from the event schedule to who is in charge of what to what equipment is
being brought out to the food menu and schedule. The info sheet is as
complete as I could make it on a single page since there are so many people
helping with the event. If the info sheet doesn't have what you are looking
for, check with the club representatives or the event on-site mangers.

During the event make sure you check-out Rick Hiller's walking tour (bring
your sun screen!) of the antenna arrays that support the 10 stations
operating during the event. Also don't forget to go by the GOTA station
set-up in the Fort Bend County Emergency Management Division communications
trailer and operated by Dave Scott. With event operations on 4 CW stations,
4 SSB stations, 2 digital stations as well as GOTA station everyone should
have a great time. Also keep a lookout for the satellite and solar power
stations that Travis Burgess will be operating sometime Saturday!

I will be sending out e-mail and Facebook updates through-out the event on
scores, contacts made by who and when dinner is served. So keeping checking
your e-mail and Facebook on what is happening during the event.

Below is the last e-mail sent out by Allen Brier in regards to operating for
Field Day. We need your help so if you have time, sign up for a slot or two
and come on and have a great time.

"Don't forget that Field Day in Duhacsek Park in Sugarland is this weekend!
If you have been procrastinating on your operating slot selection, now is
the time to do it.

There are plenty of open slots in the operating schedule for you. CW, Phone,
Digital, please help eliminate the white spaces!

Also, there are several volunteers available to help budding contest
operators, just look at the bottom. The link is below:

Please.we need more operators! Some of you have never come out for Field
Day.WE NEED YOU!"

Last but not least I want to let everyone know that there will be awards
given for this year's the top scorers in CW and SSB.

The awards will be presented during the BVARC annual Ice Cream Social in
August. So come on out and rack up some points for you and your club!

I will ask other club members to repost this e-mail to other clubs so the
event will get coverage in the greater Houston area.

So come on out to enjoy a great ham radio event by putting your license to a
great use!

73,
