Had this happen once. I had to take the pole down and push up from the 
bottomthen put a stainless hose clamp on the smaller tube to prevent it from 
dropping down again.

Part of my telescoping mast fell down into a lower section. I have been unable 
to get the sections back to the right height. I just cannot get the sections to
