I have written many times on the subject of new ops to satellite. Many for the ARRL audio news. I have done APRS a few times. Not my cup of tea. Never tried to listen to weather satellites. FM, SSB/CW satellites I enjoy. His writings on working an FM satellite is good. My only suggestion is that if you change your step from 10 to 5 or 2.5 you will hear more the smaller the step. Satellite radios, Kenwood, Yaesu and Icom have 1 hz steps allowing you to hear the most during a pass.

I know we have a couple of members who are really into working satellites who might be able to help.
