Jerry,

I had a look at the DCU manual.  I suggest that you do the same.   Does the
unit indicate MOTOR light?  Does it indicate CABLE light?  Both errors with
the system.

In the manual there are troubleshooting charts and tables of voltages and
resistances that you can measure in the shack to see what's up.

I didn't look, but are there any fuses in the motor control lines?    If it
jammed and the motor still tried to rotate you would have a rising current
situation and blow a  fuse.  Also, any possibility of the controller MPU
getting taken out?

Do you have the original control box which is fully manual?   Maybe to hook
that up and see what it does.  It's just switches controlling voltages.

Plenty you can check out from the ground, before you set foot on the tower.
