Yep. Im pretty sure we found the bacon sizzle. He drove to the street behind
my house and we followed the RFI with his 2m yagi connected to my 991a until it
got really loud and it was isolated on one pole.
Not sure how fast these things get remedied, but they now know about it. Really
nice fella and recommend his contact if you have some noisy power poles in your
area.

Thanks. Yep, i found it when i did a search in my email and emailed him.
He emailed me back immediately and asked me to call him.
He's coming out today to get a sample of the RFI. But in the past 20 minutes,
the interference stopped! Hope it starts again when he comes.

Try Jeff Hoke at CenterPoint.  713 304 2728.Don't know if he is still there but
at least it is a start.

Starting last Friday i've got serious RFI at my QTH going from AM all the way
through 70cm. It sounds like bacon cooking and I first saw it on 2m with my
991a. My Flex raised the noise floor so just the biggest signals get through.
It is somewhat intermittent, a few hours on, then sputters and quits and
everything is back to normal.
First thing I did was put my 991 on a battery and hit all the breakers in the
house. Still had RFI, then checked all the UPS and still no smoking guns.
I wired up a Lipo to my 991 and a rubber duck antenna and walked around, not
much RFI in the front. As I approached the power lines in back the RFI got
really bad, especially right in front of a certain power pole. Sort of a sizzle
sound heard when standing in front of that pole.
Question, i know we used to have a contact at Centerpoint, but didn't he
retire? Do we have anyone anymore that is a go-to or am I just going to have to
call them cold?
Attaching a pic of the RFI from the 991a, this is what it looks like from 70cm
all the way down to 160m.
Thanks,

area.________________________________________________
