*Marty,

The 147.000 repeater does not send out CTCSS on it's carrier. You should reprogram your radio to receive the machine in carrier squelch only, no CTCSS decode. That will fix the issue. Good luck with the event and thanks for volunteering.

Today I was helping with the Arc bike ride Tour duRouge and we were on the 147.000 repeater. I was able to transmit with the ht using an adapter and a magnet mount antenna on top of the car. However I was only able to hear anyone if I pressed in the squelch button on the side of the ht. I programmed various squelch settings but nothing worked except pressing the side button. Again all good on the transmit side. Anyone have a fix? I do notice it’s only doing this on two meters. When I transmit on frequencies like 442.000 it does break the squelch and send the ID audio and other uhf repeaters the same. I’ve double checked settings and checked the manual so hope someone might see what I missed thanks Marty AG5T
