Well isn’t that the handiest and a very timely resource to come across! I just
got a Kenwood TS 2000 from Bill Green recently, and am just exactly at the
phase of having to buy some materials and put up something so that I can start
listening. I’ve had the handie-talkie little Baofeng (UV-5R I think), and so
everything at longer wavelength is all new to me. This is a great newbie
starter, I’m willing to bet after brief inspection.

Thanks!

Subject: [BVARC] Succinct HF Antenna Book

Chuck, W5PR, of the TX DX Society, passed on a great book about HF antennas

Chuck writes, "There was a study done on this by Stanford in 1967 for the army:

Stanford Research Institute Field Guide To Simple HF Dipoles"

Available at

https://www.dxzone.com/qsy32265-a-field-guide-to-simple-hf-dipoles

Check it out. Seems to be right on target for a radio / antenna neophyte.

Tnx, Chuck.....73.. W5RH
