Works just fine with my IC-2730 and Chirp (you can find that here <https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home>), takes about a minute or two to program my 500+ channels (Including GMRS, FRS and Marine freq). I wouldn't install whatever software comes with the cable though. Your computer should recognize it as a serial device and then you just pull it up in Chirp. Chirp has a nice feature where you can pull up all the local repeaters by distance from your location, also other standard frequencies are listed in there. I have attached my own Chirp file if you want to use it. Channel 0 is 146.94, 1-22 are GMRS/FRS, the rest are roughly in numerical order, Marine bands at the end (475 and beyond). I didn't include the NOAA stations because the IC-2730 has those as a built-in feature.
